Wed 21st July – Camera craft – Camera in the dark
Start time: 7 pm at clubrooms

What to bring: Camera, batteries, memory cards, tripod, trigger or remote shutter if you have them, red head lamp if you have one, wear black/dark non reflective clothing if you want to try light painting
Points to know or learn before attending: Know how to switch your camera to Bulb mode AND manual focus. If you use an Olympus camera know how to switch to live composite. If you don’t know how to do these things then have a google or reach out to a club member you know and I am sure they will be able to help you!
Wed 21st July – Sports PJ closes
Sports PJ entries close tonight at 11.30 pm. This year the committee have decide to make this competition Sports PJ only
4.9 Sports Photojournalism (relevant parts of club rules) – Images that could be in a magazine or newspaper BASIC EDITING ONLY permitted.
b) Set up situations are not permitted. Integrity is paramount in this section. Changing the context of the shot by posing or editing is not allowed
c) Colour or greyscale are acceptable
d) To allow the author to put the image in to context with what was happening in the scene, on the entry form a box is provided to write a short caption or description. Use of the caption box is optional and limited to 100 characters.

Online challenge – “Creatures” closes end of August
AGM – This will be on Tues 14th September – start time 7 pm. A light supper will be served
Themed Portfolios – Time to start thinking about a theme, if you haven’t already and start getting some photos taken. A themed portfolio is a set of 6 images with a common theme. There are no editing restrictions. Submissions will be digital and follow standard sizing for digital submissions. This closes Nov 3rd and will be judged 16th Nov
